FREEZE TRAINING ACADEMY
The freeze training academy is based on technique and skills building sessions. The purpose of the Academy is based solely on improving each individual's technical ability. It is our expectation that all FC Freeze Travel team players, from all age groups, will participate in our academy training sessions. The first training session will begin at 9:00am, Sunday January 22, 2012.
Bring turf shoes or flat sole sneakers, (running shoes are not recommended) shin pads, water bottle, and a soccer ball, dressed for a soccer skills training session.
We would like you to pre register On-Line or respond to this email (Name, gender, age, t-shirt size (please specify adult sizes or children’s sizes), field player or goal keeper) so the training session is staffed adequately, and shirts can be ordered.
The immediate schedule calls for Sunday mornings: 9AM-11AM January 22nd, 29th; February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th; March 4th, March 11th, If you are new to this program, this is a skill based program. Very little game play will take place unless it is in the course of the training activity: Emphasis is on individual technical development such as: Ball Mastery (touches on the ball) Goalkeepers The format of the academy will be as follows:
Please note: each skill listed above will not be taught every week. Progression of activities will depend on the makeup of each group. Groups will be determined by age, ability, or both, whichever allows for the best learning to take place. Depending on the makeup of the groups, they could change weekly or remain the same. Instruction will be provided by the Coaching staff of the Women’s and Men’s soccer teams from St. Lawrence University, current and former players from both teams, and the FC Freeze Coaching Staff. PLEASE NOTE: **The training academy will also be used as a selection process for our FC FREEZE Travel Teams, along with our Team Selection Days in March.
